Counselling and Psychotherapy

Counselling, psychotherapy, Margaret O'Connor

I work in a client centred approach. This means that I believe each client can achieve their full potential in life but this process is often blocked by life events and experiences. I will support you to work through these blocks by providing time, space, support and a neutral perspective.

I also use other approaches and techniques as appropriate. These can include mindfulness, cognitive behavioural therapy and creative therapies.

Issues I work with include but are not limited to:

  • anxiety

  • depression

  • stress

  • low self esteem

  • obsessive compulsive disorder

  • phobias

  • bereavement

  • relationship issues

  • family issues

  • anger management

  • health issues

  • loss

  • mental health issues

  • personal development

  • pregnancy related issues

  • redundancy

  • trauma

  • women's issues

  • gender and sexuality issues

Currently, I am only providing online sessions. At the first appointment, I will discuss how counselling works and my own particular style of work. We will discuss the issues you want to look at and what you would like to achieve in your counselling sessions. We will then draw up a plan which we will review regularly. The client is always in charge of the pace of the work, which issues they feel comfortable talking about and how they wish to proceed.

Please contact me if you feel I can help you.
